About Key Club

History of Key Club

Key Club originated in Sacramento, California in May of 1925.    In the next fifteen years, 50 clubs had been chartered in the states of California, Florida, Louisiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington.  In 1939, the first association convention was held in Florida and district officers were elected.  In 1946, the International Constitution and Bylaws were adopted and Florida became the first Key Club District.  The first issue of KEYNOTER was published in May 1946.  The first international club was chartered in Canada in 1946 and other international districts have since formed, including the Caribbean District.
