Friday Night -
Hey wassup Key Clubbers!
Welcome to another brand-new section of the redesigned KeyTrack Indiana District website. After each board meeting, I, your awesome District Webmaster, will be giving you a recap on all the shenanigans, service, and slightly sleep-deprived moments from our meetings.
Let’s kick things off with the first board meeting of the new service year: April Board Trainer, which took place from April 11th–12th. Now, you may be wondering: “Why are we starting with Friday night?” Well, executive officers myself, Olive, Nifemi, and Dylan along with our amazing adult admin, had to arrive at the hotel the night before to make sure everything was ready, set, and Key Club-approved for the weekend.
Since we needed to arrive at the hotel at 5:30 PM, Nifemi and I had to leave right after school because we attend Shortridge High School, which is about twenty minutes from the hotel. (Thx again Nina for that Uber money, much love. Truly the best president ever, Nina.)
Once we arrived, we settled in and waited for the other execs to arrive. And once they did, we got right to work finalizing the agenda, reviewing directives, and of course catching up after not seeing each other since DLC. Once we were fully prepped for the next morning, we made a few goody bags for the new INDB members using supplies brought by the lovely Laura Holloway, including:
An Eyemask
Ear Plugs
and A Signature Squishy for each INDB member (mine's a duck, hehe)
After that, (and some exec-only shenanigans which I will not be telling y'all about haha) we called it a night because even super cool Key Club leaders need sleep.

Saturday - It was officially the next morning! We woke up bright and early and headed down to greet the new Indiana District Board (INDB) for the very first time. We officially called the meeting to order at 9:30 AM and went over weekend expectations.
We taught the new INDB the process of parliamentary procedure, which the person reading this of course already knows… and if not, definitely check out the updated Resource Section on the website shameless plug, but an important one.
We then put those skills to use, and the LTGs officially appointed the new VDLs. I’m so happy to announce:
Arrowhead Division VDL - Addison Modglin from Morgan Township High School
Hoosier Division VDL - Tanvi Patel from Terre Haute South Vigo High School
Land Of Lakes Division VDL - Kamryn Christe from Washington Township High School
Lincoln Division VDL - Simon Bik from Perry Meridian High School
Potawatomi Division VDL - Vedika Sharma from Perry Meridian High School
Scenic Farms Division VDL - Shranajit Kaur from Whiteland High School
Southwind Division VDL - Eva Carino from Terre Haute South Vigo High School

And unfortunately, we’re sad to announce the resignation of the former Rose Division LTG, but we are very excited to welcome the new Rose Division VDL, Lee De Guzman from Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
Special shoutout to our Bulletin Editor for creating all the presentations throughout the weekend, they truly carried the weekend!
We then went through introductions so our board could get connected. Dylan introduced the strike policy and went over the new house assortments after the division redraw.

After this long day of work that absolutely flew by, we had the rest of the night to ourselves. The execs went off to finish some work, while the LTGs had fun with games and more bonding. They’re already so close it’s honestly really cute to see.
Meanwhile, yours truly needed some content for the website (because the content never sleeps), so I stayed back to get that done.
After that, we headed to bed for the night.

Sunday -
Dylan called the meeting to order Sunday morning and jumped right back into action.
We:
Reviewed committees
Did a morning energizer Pop-Siko (thanks to yours truly)
Went over email signatures
Practiced more parliamentary procedure
And went over a special new initiative from our Bulletin Editor
We also received updates from our amazing Key Club family:
An International update from the amazing Grace Nelson, our International Trustee
A Circle K update from Kyle Stowers, District Administrator for Circle K
And a Kiwanis update from Governor Sue
After a bit more work time and some photo taking, we reached the end of the weekend and adjourned with our:
Roses - Positive things about the weekend
Thorns - Things that could have gone better
For me personally:
My rose: Getting to meet everyone, I know this board is going to do amazing things throughout the service year
My thorn: I couldn’t think of one at the time… but after I got home, I realized I left my shampoo, conditioner, and charger at the hotel, which was not a fun discovery later 😅
