Hello, my name is Matthew Hersey, your 2011-2012 Lt. Governor from the Wapahani Division. This position has opened my eyes to new walks of life and innumerable personalities all based around service. In a world where materialism and egotism is so commonplace, I find to comforting to see that there are those who have not yet "bowed the knee to Baal".
Before my term as an officer on the board, I did not have an inkling of what the board was about (not to mention its existence). I was appointed half-way through the 2011-2012 year, so I did not have the advantage of a solid foundation with the other incoming LTGs. But, I was able to serve to the best of my abilities in the short amount of time that I had. I loved the opportunity that so many passed off on because of busy schedules or other commitments which were not necessary. The experiences I have enjoyed in this position have contributed to my betterment as a Key Club member and a human being. Others who were ahead of me on the list of apointees have squandered a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Although I have not been as productive as other LTGs, I have greatly enhanced the Wapahani Division's standing on the district board. The next LTG will be in a much greater position than I was to make this Club great. This is my pledge to the club, to establish a standard of excellence in which I supply my sucessor with the ability to overcome that standard.
