The Key Club International Convention (ICON) this year in Atlanta, Georgia was such an amazing experience for our attendees! Indiana had 8 Key Clubbers attend ICON this year. Camden Bell, Samantha Bunag, Nicole Bunag, Paige Hein, Gage Gonzalez, and Jason Bunag represented Washington Township High School, while Love Swayze and Hailey Levarn represented Perry Meridian High School. All 8 attendees took part in the pre-convention tour days alongside the Michigan District by traveling to museums such as the Civil Rights Museum, Breman Holocaust Museum, and World of Coke Museum, just to name a few. Then transitioning to the actual ICON 2024 convention days, our attendees listened to amazing guest speakers such as Evan Austin and Rania Zuri, as well as learning more about Key Club by attending wonderful workshops! We had multiple clubs get shouted out, win awards, and have some past Lieutenant Governors win Robert F. Lucas awards (RFLs). Valparaiso High School got shouted out by the Thirst Project for being one of the All-Star clubs that participated in the Key Club Walks Campaign earlier this year. Ivette Westerman (Boone Grove), Jodi Olah (Highland), Heidi Polizotto (Hobart), Kim Crawford (Homestead), and Barbara Rea (Washington Township) were shouted out for being Outstanding Faculty Advisors. Then, Boone Grove, Highland, Hobart, Homestead, and Washington Township were recognized for being Distinguished Clubs. Perry Meridian won second place for the Tradition Year-In-Review award for their scrapbook. Finally, Gabriella Alvarado, Jason Bunag, Andrew Julian, Mahlia Scantlen, Tristen Slaven, Peyton Smith, Gloria Spencer, and Yosan Tekle won Robert F. Lucas awards (RFLs) for being Distinguished Lieutenant Governors. Indiana also had 2 candidates run for the position of International Trustee. Then at the end of the last ICON day, we found out that 1 of our candidates prevailed! Nicole Bunag is one of the International Trustees for the 2024-2025 service year!! If you want to make connections with people apart of the Key Club community from around the world, vote on the next International Board, celebrate Key Club’s 100th Birthday, and make long-lasting memories, be sure to save the date for July 2nd - 6th, 2025  for ICON 2025 in Orlando, Florida!!!
