International Convention 2023
This year, the Key Club International Convention was held in Anaheim, California! Indiana Key Clubbers had the opportunity to meet individuals from other districts while attending fun workshops, getting to hear from some of the ICONic keynote speakers, and visiting the surrounding area through the district tour. Indiana representatives also had the honor of running for international office, expanding their leadership skills through the Global Leadership Certificate Masterclass, and voting on important amendments during the House of Delegates. Everyone leaving this year’s inspiring convention walks away with new and continued passion to serve for their world through Key Club’s efforts

ICON Interview
Hobart High School Key Club President Conner Niemann attended ICON this year. This is what he had to say about his experience!
My name is Conner Niemann, President of the Hobart High School Key Club, and I recently had the privilege of traveling to Anaheim for this year’s convention. Having gone to convention in the past, I had a lot of excitement for this year’s offerings. My expectations were blown out of the water as I ultimately ended up having a thrilling time. I was not only able to create expansive relationships with others I haven’t met from the Indiana District, but I was also able to see members from last year as well, and make new friends on top of it all. Although we traveled primarily for the convention, visiting Disney on the 4th of July as part of our district tour is a memory that I will never forget; especially seeing the fireworks! When it comes to the convention, this year’s keynote speakers were on-point! From Leah Marlene giving us a private concert, to Adam Klein elaborating on his ideals of connection from a Survivor perspective, and Sarah Culberson describing her unrelenting passion who she truly is, I walked away with many lessons on how to go on my own self-discovery journey whilst traveling on the Key Club pathway. When attending the workshops, I was particularly looking forward to bringing new ideas back to my home club; specifically, how to implement more of the global partners on a local level. I strongly believe that I walked away with many valuable strategies I will be implementing in both my leadership skills and personal capabilities. I strongly urge that anyone on the fence about attending ICON next year in Atlanta to take a step outside of their comfort zone and put forth their best effort to make the journey and try it out. Being able to visualize and represent Key Club on the international stage is one of the most rewarding experiences there is to offer. We hope to see you at ICON 2024 in Atlanta, GA, from July 10-14th! |
